Team USA coach Steve Kerr is eager for his team to secure a victory against Canada, and he believes that their familiarity with Canadian players could give them an edge, unlike the semifinal match against Germany. He expressed this sentiment shortly after the semifinal loss to Germany when discussing Canada and his players’ mindset.

“Well, we know these players pretty well,” Kerr said. “Five or six of them, obviously, we see every night in the NBA. They’re a little more familiar with this team. We understand their strengths. They’ve had a great tournament. They’ve really played at a high level, so it’ll be a big challenge for them.”
